Water, lake
A stave with a single upper branch — a wave, or an oar dipping. Water has no shape of its own yet passes through everything: emotion, and what lies below conscious awareness.
Trust what you feel over what you can analyse. Dreams, intuition, and deep feeling are carrying information right now. A strong period for creative work, healing, and letting things flow rather than forcing them.
Emotion flooding judgement, or feeling suppressed until it turns toxic. It can mean irrational fear, avoidance of reality, or exhaustion from swimming against the current.
Stop fighting the current. Float, and see where it carries you.
The Vikings travelled primarily by water — rivers, lakes and open ocean. The Anglo-Saxon poem describes the sea from the point of view of someone afraid of it: endless to those who must trust themselves to a pitching ship, the waves horses that will not take a bridle.
